Alternative Dental Hygiene of California, Inc. (ADHC) is a public benefit 501 (c) (3) corporation. Founded in 2004 it has provided charitable dental hygiene services throughout Kern County and surrounding areas to over 1500 children in schools.
In 2005, ADHC promoted and implemented "Our Kids First" (AP) with Louise Arreloa RN in the Lamont School District. It was the first charitable sealant program in Kern County for elementary and middle school students, targeting specifically children with first and second molars. The name was changed in 2008 to "Save Our Smiles"(S.O.S). It is a much sought after volunteer preventive dental hygiene program that continues to expand its services to different school districts.
ADHC provides services to a school district after its approval by the superintendent, school principal, school nurse and/or the district board of trustee.
Arvin, Vineland, General Shafter, Wasco, Elk Hills, Delano, Bakersfield, and Lamont students have all benefited from ADHC's presence in their schools. ADHC services are also available to SNFs and home bound clients.
